This small counter height dining table is perfect for a rustic warm kitchen that invites people to hang out. The table is an extendable table which means that it seats 2 every day, making great use of a smaller footprint while having the ability to extend with 2 additional leaves when you host a party. It is made of ash with a natural finish which gives it a rustic style. The clean square Seymour edges pair well with the wood post legs of the parsons design for a really functional design. The table pictured is 28″ x 36″ and seats 2-4 people. The two 18″ leaves add seating for another 4 people.

At Loewen Design Studios we build each of our dining tables one at a time, just for you. That’s exactly what we did with this one. The table in this picture is off to live a long life in someone’s home, but we’d be happy to build you one like it, or something else if that’d suit you better. Here’s how this table came to be.

The original inspiration for this table was a similar tables we’ve built before, but the people who sit around this table now-a-days wanted to make a couple changes. (Here is the listing for the inspiration if you’re curious https://www.etsy.com/listing/1225075748/)
They liked the Seymour edge with its square corners and edges. They also liked the Parker base – this is a traditional parsons base with a skirt and square corner post legs.
The shape of the table was good too as a rectangle is a very practical shape. And as a counter height table it has a casual energy.
There were 2 key changes they wanted. The first was to build the table out of ash wood instead of maple, a hardwood with a beautiful grain similar to Oak. The other change was to make it as an extendable table so there would be room for guests.

If you’re curious about timelines, we generally need 3-4 weeks to build and finish your table. Very large sizes or more specialized customization might require a bit longer. All of our prices include shipping. Depending where you live, white glove delivery may be available. We’ll reach out once you place your order to confirm shipping details. Typically shipping requires an additional 1-2 weeks after production.
