This unique item is one of our favorite traditional pieces. It is built using solid walnut wood and was skillfully balanced with the unique contrast of maple wood inlays and beading.

The back face of the bookcase has a book matched veneer pattern made of unique walnut burl that has awesome bark and sapwood inclusions that help add to the contrast of this piece while tying into the maple accents seamlessly.

MATERIALS:

Item is solid wood. All my wood arrives as rough sawn lumber, which affords me extra flexibility with my material. I do my best to match boards for grain, color and texture; that said, wood is natural and what you order may not look exactly like the picture, but it will be a unique work of art. All the wood used in T.Y. Fine Furniture is selected from naturally fallen trees, coming from local Ohio Forests. The glues are age old milk based blends that are tested for food contact.

FINISH:

I believe wood should never be stained or sealed heavily. It robs the wood of its beauty and the end user of the pure experience and joy when buying an honestly made piece of furniture. I use my own wood finish which is an Oil+Wax blend. And because I treat my customers as I would my own family, my finish is 100% Organic and consists of only food grade ingredients. Additionally, the finish is incredibly easy to maintain and repair. Here is some more information on my finish:

Some applications require a more waterproof coating, so please let me know if you would like your item finished with a hard coating style finish.
