Ceridwen is a figure from Welsh mythology. She is often depicted as a powerful sorceress and the mother of the famous bard Taliesin. According to legend, Ceridwen brewed a magical potion called Awen that would grant the gift of poetic inspiration and wisdom to whoever drank it. However, the potion needed to be brewed for a year and a day and was guarded by a boy named Gwion Bach. One day, Gwion accidentally tasted the potion and gained its powers. Ceridwen chased him, and after a series of shape-shifting events, Gwion was transformed into a grain of wheat and eaten by Ceridwen. However, she became pregnant with him and gave birth to Taliesin, who became one of the most famous bards in Welsh mythology. Ceridwen is often associated with the moon, magic, and transformation.
