Large Farmhouse Table, Extendable Walnut Dining Table, Walnut Farm Table for Kitchen or Dining Room

This is an extendable large farmhouse table. It was custom built from solid Walnut wood and given a blackened finish, a Seymour edge, and Hawkin legs. This table is 42″ x 84″ which seats 6-8 people. With the 2-18″ leaves in place you can seat an additional 4 people.

At Loewen Design Studios we build each of our dining tables one at a time, just for you. That’s exactly what we did with this one. The table in this picture is off to live a long life in someone’s home, but we’d be happy to build you one like it, or something else if that’d suit you better. Here’s how this table came to be.

The original inspiration for this table was a similar table we’ve built before, but the people who sit around this table now-a-days wanted to make a couple changes. (Here are the listings for the inspiration if you’re curious https://www.etsy.com/listing/1289334247/)
They preferred the Seymour edge over the Finlay edge for a cleaner lines.
They liked the blackened walnut which pulls out the darker tones of the walnut.
They also wanted an end extension table which means that you add a leaf to each end. Without the leaves, the table looks and functions as a standard table which would be used as an everyday table. With an end extension table, the grain on the core table runs lengthwise and on the leaves it runs across the table for a breadboard effect. The main change was the legs. Instead of the Caldwell legs, they chose the Hawkin legs. With the chunky H legs, this table leans a bit more modern farmhouse instead of midcentury modern.

If you’re curious about timelines, we generally need 4-6 weeks to build and finish your table. Very large sizes or more specialized customization might require a bit longer. All of our prices include shipping. Depending where you live, white glove delivery may be available. We’ll reach out once you place your order to confirm shipping details. Typically shipping requires an additional 2-4 weeks after production.
